The seeds for starting the Gobi Arts College (presently known as Gobi Arts & Science College) were sown by Amarar Sri. K.M. Ramasamy Gounder, an eminent educationist and Member of the Legislative Assembly who had served as the Headmaster of the Diamond Jubilee High School. As the result, an Educational Agency in the name of the Gobi Arts College Council was formed in the year 1967.

The nucleus fund for starting the College came in the form of a generous donation of land worth Rs. 2 Lakhs from munificent brothers Sri. S.N. Anantharaman and Sri. S.N. Devarajan, the sons of the philanthropic minded landlord Amarar Sri. S.D. Narayanaswamy Iyer.

We offer a rich programme of graduate courses that encourages you to appreciate the beauty of nature and God’s creation, to note the historical and social realities, to understand the psychology of human behaviour, or for those with other interests to study economics, financial accounting, management and marketing. We equip you to realise your potential for electronics and web technology and we also cater to your appetite for food production, beverage service and hospitality. Besides the myriad academic courses, we have a full calendar of events and activities in our impressive auditorium and campus in order to realise our vision to provide you with a holistic education.
